With over thirty years experience in real estate law and corporate law, Ed Fishman understands how he can best help his clients in his role as their attorney. Ed’s experience encompasses all aspects of real estate law, including property acquisition and development, retail and commercial leasing, construction, mezzanine and permanent financing, sale/leaseback transactions, and equity placements. His practice also includes advising his clients on general business law impacting their companies and transactions.

Ed’s clients include individual investors, real estate developers, entrepreneurs, major corporations, and institutional investors. Whether he is negotiating a minor agreement, or coordinating the legal needs for a complex multi-party high dollar transaction, his clients’ needs are always his primary concern. He takes the time to carefully listen to each client, asks the important questions, and then applies his knowledge of the law to achieve the very best results possible for his clients. His clients, many of whom have very long standing relationships with him, appreciate getting top quality work handled in a cost efficient manner by Ed and his team. Ed works with his clients from the initial concept, strategy and structure, through to the all important goal of getting the deal done, and getting it done right. Viewed as a trusted advisor by many of his clients, Ed genuinely enjoys working with his clients and handling all of their legal needs.

  • Representative Experience

    • Represented European investors in the acquisition and operation of suburban office buildings and retail shopping centers in north Texas.
    • Serves as counsel to a provider of both equity and debt financing in Texas. In the first half of 2010, Ed closed the sale of, and worked on financing transactions for, office buildings by various ownership groups.
    • Regional counsel for a life insurance company that provides long term financing for real estate projects throughout Texas. In the past year, Ed represented his client in over a dozen financing transactions in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin.
    • Actively involved in the acquisition, financing, development, management, and sale of real estate projects for a local syndicator client. The real estate involved in these representations has included office buildings, apartments, and shopping centers.
    • Served as counsel to investors who acquire, develop, finance and sell tracts for single family homes.
    • Advises investor groups involved in the acquisition, financing, leasing and sale of major retail shopping centers, residential complexes, and medical office buildings throughout north Texas.
