Scott Jackson has over thirty years of experience in many facets of real estate law, with an emphasis on the development, purchase and sale of income properties. Mr. Jackson also has significant experience with ground leasing, retail and office leasing, residential development, and owners’ associations. His client base is extremely diverse, including private investors from the U.S. and around the world, U.S. real estate development and management companies, restaurant chains, and national healthcare companies. Over the years, Mr. Jackson has handled simple transactions to complex and challenging multi-party transactions with many moving parts.

Mr. Jackson enjoys assisting his clients in every aspect of the real estate transaction, from determining and forming the original entity to the deal closing and all aspects in between. From the beginning of the representation, he focuses on providing high quality counsel by first understanding his client’s objectives, and then taking all steps necessary to make sure that the transaction at hand meets those objectives. Mr. Jackson understands the importance of gaining consensus in order to bring a transaction together quickly. He prides himself on being effective at bringing seemingly disparate interests together, allowing the deal to get done as efficiently as possible, and at a fair price for his clients.

  • Representative Experience

    • Represented the developer of the Valley Ranch, home of the Dallas Cowboys and a 2000 acre planned unit development project in Irving, TX that includes homes, retail, and commercial development. He worked with the developer from initial assemblage and infrastructure through owners’ association documentation and beyond.
    • Recently participated in the restructuring and settlement of disputes pertaining to a client’s investment of over $300,000,000 in different real estate portfolios involving the development of residential real estate, office buildings, hotels, land investments, and a golf course.Represented developers of high end residential projects such as Willow Bend in Plano, Hackberry Creek in Las Colinas, Kings Lake in Stonebridge Ranch in McKinney, Texas and other similar developments, as well as urban mid-rise condominium developments.
    • Supervised teams of attorneys in connection with the preservation and liquidation of loans and real estate by federal agencies on behalf of failed lenders.
